Your school is cordially invited to UNC Chapel Hill’s second annual college Model UN conference, MUNC. The conference will be held February 3-5, 2012 on Chapel Hill’s beautiful campus. Priority registration for the conference will open at the beginning of June and regular registration will open at the beginning of August.

BITSMUN 2012: 2012-02-03

BITSMUN is a Model United Nations conference and is an event for young thinkers to debate on global issues by assuming the roles of delegates from countries across the world. BITSMUN is open to high school juniors and seniors and undergraudate and graduate students from any university.

BITSMUN 2011 was a great sucess and saw close to 300 participants from across India and the world.

BITSMUN 2012 will simulate the General Assemble, Security Council, ECOSOC, WHO, NATO, UNESCO and an international press. Prize money on offer is Rs 100,000.

Registrations will occur in two phases. Phase I has begun and will end on 15th November.

UGA Model UN Conference: 2012-02-03

UGAMUNC is an annual high school conference hosted by the UGA Model United Nations team in the spring of each academic year. Students will be engaged in debate concerning the most pressing international issues in current affairs. Furthermore, UGAMUNC provides the opportunity for participants to develop public speaking and research skills in a forum that fosters relationship building and diplomacy, all while experiencing the historic campus of the University of Georgia and the charm of the Classic City. Our team is working hard daily to improve the entire conference experience from registration to closing ceremonies with the goal of hosting not only the best conference in the Southeast, but one of the best in the nation.

UGAMUNC XVIII committee sessions will take place in the Zell B. Miller Learning Center at the heart of the University of Georgia campus from February 3rd-5th, 2012.

Global Classrooms: New York City: 2012-02-04

This year's conference will be held at the City College of New York (CCNY), and will feature Opening and Closing Ceremonies in the Great Hall at CCNY. The conference is scheduled to be held on February 4, 2012 at the City College of New York. The conference has the capacity for 800 middle and high school students and feature eight committees, where debate focused on current and pressing international issues such as HIV and young people, women and development, and religious intolerance.

The Global Classrooms: New York City conference provided a greater opportunity for Global Classrooms students to participate in a professional conference setting and the chance to debate with hundreds of students from across the city.

First International Conference on Environmental Challenges in Arid Regions.: 2012-02-06

First International Conference on Environmental Challenges in Arid Regions is organised to debate scientific and practical research advancements on the topics of the conference, and to provide a platform for interdisciplinary knowledge exchange and dissemination of success stories. The different conference sessions will focus on priority environmental issues of Air Pollution, Water Pollution and Solid Waste Management of concern to the wellbeing of the arid regions communities addressed and discussed by imminent keynote speakers, researchers and environment professionals. It is hoped that this gathering will provide opportunities to discuss collaborative research and capacity building activities between the Center and environment researchers and other research centers at different parts of the world interested in the environmental management of arid regions.

Alabama Model United Nations: 2012-02-09

ALMUN is a high school-level, assembly-based Model United Nations conference hosted by the Alabama International Relations Club on the campus of the University of Alabama. The conference will be held on February 9-12, 2012. High schools throughout the southeast and beyond are invited to register delegations of students in ALMUN to debate issues that press on the global community and work towards drafting resolutions to help solve these problems. As a conference, ALMUN is dedicated to spreading awareness of global issues throughout the state of Alabama while fostering the development of knowledge, debate and public speaking skills, and interpersonal relationships among delegates. ALMUN also hosts at least one delegate social over the weekend.

Ghana Model United Nations: 2012-02-09

The Ghana Model United Nations conference is the largest and most prestigious MUN conference in West Africa. The conference is based in Accra, Ghana and is hosted by Lincoln Community School; the venue for the conference is the prominent Kofi Annan International Peace-Keeping and Training Center. In February of 2012, Lincoln Community School will be hosting the 8th annual Conference. Despite its relatively short history, GHAMUN has had participants from all over Africa, as well as Europe and the Middle East. GHAMUN’s prime objective is to develop open-minded, cooperative students that are passionate about human rights, disarmament, globalization, protection of the environment, economic and social development and multilateral diplomacy. It seeks to provide students with opportunities to engage in activities such as problem solving and conflict resolution while also creating an ideal environment for participants to mingle and meet new people from all over the world.

MITMUNC is a new, unique, and innovative high school Model United Nations conference, focusing on committees that have a scientific or technological foundation. The high school students attending do not have to be science experts in this three-day conference - rather, our goal is to have our chairs use their expertise to make the scientific issues accessible to the students, so that the students can debate the policy issues with a better understanding of the facts behind them.
