About the Conference
Florida High Schools Model UN (FHSMUN) was established in 1980 when students and professors from the University of South Florida (USF) convened the first conference in Tallahassee. Over the past 30+ years, FHSMUN has grown into one of the most well-respected and largest high school Model UN conferences in the Southeast because of the extraordinary commitment of the Staff, the Board of Directors, local United Nations Association (UNA) chapters, the Florida Division of the UNA, UNA National in New York, and universities and community organizations. FHSMUN's focus has always been its educational mission and the Staff and Board of Directors remain firmly committed to that vital educational mission.
FHSMUN is a unique MUN conference for two fundamental reasons: 1)it is a state-wide MUN conference; and 2)the educational mission guides all of the decisions and processes for the organization.
